On behalf of President Jack W. Hayford and the Foursquare Board of Directors, Vice President of U.S. Operations and General Supervisor Glenn Burris Jr. is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Gideon T. Yuk to the position of supervisor of the Korean District, effective July 1, 2006.

Gideon Yuk is senior pastor of the Rowland Heights Foursquare Church, previously known as the Walnut Korean Foursquare Church. For the past three years, he has served alongside former Supervisor Sam Chung as administrator of the Korean District, and prior to that was a divisional superintendent within the same district. Gideon previously ministered as a missionary in Austria and as a children’s and youth leader in churches in the Southern California area.

He was director of Christian education at Valley First Presbyterian Church in Reseda, Calif. before assuming his present assignment as senior pastor in Rowland Heights, Calif. Gideon’s work has placed him in rehabilitation services with different agencies as a social worker, rehabilitation counselor and consumer services coordinator.

Born in Korea, Gideon is a multi-lingual citizen of the United States, having completed his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary, following a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Life Pacific College. Before becoming a student at Life Pacific, he majored in music at El Camino College. Gideon, an ordained Foursquare minister, is married to Kyonghi, and they are the parents of Eunice and Joseph. The Yuks live in West Covina, Calif.

The Foursquare Board of Directors and the Executive Team of The Foursquare Church have great confidence in the leadership of Giedon Yuk and join with the pastors of the Korean District in welcoming him to this new ministry assignment.
