On Saturday, February 13, Veronica Reece, wife of Foursquare Southeast District Supervisor Scott Reece, passed away unexpectedly in Stockbridge, Ga., just outside of Atlanta. Veronica, 45, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday for trouble related to her breathing. As she struggled to breathe throughout the day, doctors placed her on a ventilator and initially diagnosed the problem related to severe pneumonia. Around 7 p.m. local time, Veronica’s breathing stopped and doctors were unable to resuscitate her. The official cause of death is unknown at this time.

Glenn Burris Jr., interim president of The Foursquare Church, requests that the Foursquare family pray for the Reeces. “Veronica was a loving wife, caring mother and dedicated servant unto the Lord. Death reveals our humanity—the loss, the questions, the pain—but the resurrection reminds us of our eternal hope in Christ. Pray that the resurrected Lord will make Himself known strongly in the hearts and minds of Scott, his four children, the entire Reece family and the Southeast District as they mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman. Veronica’s godly character and graceful presence will be greatly missed.”

In addition to serving faithfully with her husband as a supervisor of the Foursquare Southeast District, Veronica also served as the director of pastoral care and women’s ministries in the district. She also contributed significantly to Foursquare’s Women in Leadership Ministry throughout the U.S. as a field representative. Veronica was licensed and ordained as a Foursquare minister in 1999.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Scott, and four children; Jessica (22), Jordan (19), Lauren (16) and Joseph (7).
