At Foursquare’s MidSouth District Conference, Administrator Nicolle Truett looked at the Bible’s treatment of tables as part of a discussion on the importance of diversity in ministry.
Tables played an important role throughout the Bible regarding hosting meal and fellowship, as in Luke 14. Jesus admonished the guests at a banquet for vying for the seat of honor. Nicolle shared that humility is the key to creating a strong group in your ministry.
“Surrounding yourself with people who are strong in the arenas that you are weak is setting your table up for excellence,” said Nicolle. She encouraged attendees to consider how a more diverse table could have a greater impact on their communities.
