The story of Mary, Martha and Jesus is one often told, shares Central District Supervisor Antonio Sims. This story reminds us that in our busy lives, it’s easy to become distracted by the many things that demand our attention. That we can become preoccupied by our work, our ministries, our churches and our responsibilities, that we can forget to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His voice.

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one…” —Luke 10:41-42 (NIV)

When we find ourselves stressed, frustrated or anxious about the responsibilities of the day, let’s remember to stop and be refreshed by the Lord. The still, small voice of God can calm the largest storms that we may face in our lives.
