While praying about our collective mission to share the Good News, the Lord gave me a vision of a vast crowd of people who were nearing the end of a race. Many of the runners had a look of uncertainty on their faces—they were panicked and unsure of which direction to go.

The believers in the race were grabbing everyone in sight to link arms and finish the race together. I kept hearing: “He is coming! He is coming! Bring everyone that you can!”

It takes the whole body working together to reach the fullness of Christ, each with our own God-given gifts and abilities (Eph. 4:11-16). As individuals, we are a critical and necessary part of the body, regardless of our “size” or if we feel inadequate or insufficiently trained to share the gospel.

God has uniquely and divinely created each of us to be used as we are, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, to reach others beyond where we think we are able.

In this final stretch of the race, it’s time for all of God’s children to lean on Him and to run, with arms outstretched, to share the love of Jesus with everyone we encounter.

Prayer + Reflection

  1. Ask the Lord to reveal every unique opportunity to reach the lost in your individual encounters with others.
  2. Pray that each part of the body of Christ would feel adequately qualified and equipped to share the love of Jesus with everyone they meet.
  3. Ask God for the courage and confidence to be vulnerable to the guiding of the Holy Spirit to reach others.
  4. As social distancing has created challenges to reach out and share with those around us, pray to make the most of the opportunities given to you—even if they’re few and far between—to share Christ’s love.
