On behalf of President Jack W. Hayford and the Foursquare Board of Directors, Glenn Burris, Jr. Vice President of U.S. Operations and General Supervisor is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Mike McGovern to the position of Supervisor of the North Central District, transitioning with current supervisor Stan Simmons, effective on or before May 1, 2006.

Mike graduated from Life Pacific College in Los Angeles in 1974, where he met his wife, Marlene. In July of 1974 the McGoverns restarted the Missoula, Mont. Foursquare Church, a congregation they have served for over 31 years. During this time, Mike and Marlene have planted two other churches in the region and have continued to oversee the expansion of churches in western Montana.

Mike has served on the Foursquare Board of Directors, by-law committee, North Central district council and ethics committee, and is an instructor of the Foursquare polity course for incoming ministers. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in theology and masters of divinity degree in counseling.

In his recent announcement to pastors in the North Central District, Glenn writes, “We want to express our deepest appreciation to Rev. Stan and Ginger Simmons for the outstanding leadership with which they have led the North Central District. It is our continued prayer for the blessing of God to infuse their ministry with His grace as they serve the congregation at Faith Chapel, Billings, as well as their community and the greater Body of Christ.”

The Foursquare Board of Directors and the Executive Team of The Foursquare Church have great confidence in the leadership of Mike McGovern and join with the pastors of the North Central District in welcoming him to this new and expanded ministry assignment.
