On December 1, Foursquare’s Women in Leadership Ministry opened up the application process for the Alabaster House Legacy Scholarships, which will be granted to recipients in 2010.

Recognizing the need for intentional leadership discipleship, the Alabaster House Legacy Scholarships are specifically for women preparing to pursue the call of God to vocational ministry. The goal is to “build our future on the foundation of our past,” according to Tammy Dunahoo, interim general supervisor and vice president of Women in Leadership Ministry.

Scholarship applications will be accepted beginning December 1, 2009, and are due on or before May 1, 2010.

A total of seven scholarships are available for the 2010 school year. Women currently pursuing higher education in preparation for ministry leadership are eligible for one of the following Alabaster House Legacy Scholarships:

  • Aimee Semple McPherson Scholarship: One $2,000 award annually
    The intent of this award is to help ensure the education of a female licensed Foursquare minister in a vocational ministry graduate program.
  • Bible College Scholarship: Three $2,000 awards annually
    The intent of this award is to empower women planning to enter a vocational ministry program leading to Foursquare credentials, by providing funds for education in an accredited Foursquare Bible college.
  • Emerging Leaders/Ignite Scholarships: Three $500 awards annually
    The intent of this award is to encourage the education of young women for vocational ministry through a Foursquare certified Emerging Leader Network (ELN) program.
