“If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31b)

I was traveling in the East when I heard an amazing story about a young man who is a senior in high school and is growing quickly in a new-found relationship with Jesus Christ. He recently signed up with the Marines and is heading to Camp LeJeune soon, planning for a career in the military.

What makes his story so compelling is that he has spent most of his life in foster care. His foster parents, who are in Foursquare ministry, arranged for him to go on a district young leaders’ trip with mostly college-age students. There, he met a young lady whose parents also are Foursquare pastors. The two of them struck up a friendship, and in the course of their conversation, he mentioned that he had been orphaned at the age of four and spoke of his biological uncle, an actor gaining acclaim for his role in a popular series on television.

When he told her who his biological grandparents were (he hadn’t seen them in 13 years), the girl gasped. “They go to my church (different town) and are on the church council,” she said. Within weeks, the young man and his grandparents were reunited for the first time in 13 years. I met them at a Foursquare district gathering and heard their story about how they are building a new relationship.

I wonder today what miracle is just around the corner from you and me. God arranges life and brings about His purposes, even amidst detours and distractions! Are you a candidate? Do you believe? Are you listening and watching?

“I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord…to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
