“The Lord is using Foursquare Brazil, a nation with 16,000 Foursquare churches, to establish works around the world,” Foursquare President Glenn Burris said in a presentation recorded live during Foursquare Connection 2019 in Nashville, Tenn. Standing with Foursquare Brazil President Mario de Oliveira and the Brazilian delegation, Glenn celebrated Foursquare founder Aimee Semple McPherson, “who cared enough about the people of Brazil to send missionaries to preach the Word of God nearly seven decades ago.”

Today, God is multiplying Portuguese-speaking disciples of Jesus with a passion for the lost. Foursquare Brazil has commissioned pastors and leaders who have established Foursquare churches in the U.S. reaching Portuguese communities.

President de Oliveira presented a Foursquare flag to Global Council Chair Leslie Keegel, indicating our shared partnership to take the gospel to every nation and tongue. Leslie and Foursquare Missions Director Ted Vail presented the delegation with copies of Leslie’s book, The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Us, recently translated into Portuguese. Glenn presented a U.S. flag to President de Oliveira with the encouragement that Foursquare churches around the world are praying for Brazilian believers.
