At the fall conference of the Central Pacific District of The Foursquare Church, author and theologian Leonard Sweet spoke about the importance of knowing the context of our times.

Leonard looked at the mission of the tribe of Issachar, their time and how they knew how to act and the modern version of this wisdom, known as “contextual intelligence.” Using semiotics, or signs and symbols, Leonard showed how the story of the Bible is perfectly fitted to the direction in which the world is now moving. For example, Jesus’ empty tomb and the different reactions to it from the disciples hold a lesson for the effectiveness of our ministry.
