When Aly Salz and her husband, Richard, graduated from Life Pacific College 25 years ago, they expected to become full-time pastors. But God had other plans.

Instead of leading the couple into traditional vocational ministry, He took them into the marketplace, where their corporate apparel business has since flourished. An assisting minister at SouthLake (Lake Oswego Foursquare Church) in West Linn, Ore., and member of the Foursquare board of directors, Aly points out that business-as-mission is not a new idea.

In this QuickTalk, recorded live at Foursquare Connection 2015 in Anaheim, Calif., Aly reminds leaders “most churches in the first century were founded by merchants and traders.” Some believe the next revival will take place in the marketplace, she notes, reaching those who never attend church.
