Plateaus can be really pleasant. Long stretches of flat terrain, nice views and the sure knowledge that you climbed to the top lends them to being places of contentment.

But are they premature contentment? What if the plateau is actually robbing us of greater joy and greater works?

Mike Kai, senior pastor of Inspire Church, a multisite Foursquare church based in Hawaii, took time during his keynote at Foursquare Connection 2016 to explore the signs that we have hit a plateau, the reasons we do so, and how we can “get back in the valley and climb another mountain.”

Drawing on the narrative of Jesus’ transfiguration on the mountain (Mark 9:2-8), Mike brought a compassionate and clear call for all of us in ministry to keep pressing in for more.

Meditate on this powerful and simple teaching. Whether you’re a seasoned minister or new to the pastorate, you will find yourself spurred on to greater things for Jesus.
