Foursquare General Supervisor Tammy Dunahoo, President Glenn C. Burris Jr. and the board of directors are pleased to announce that Rev. Tim Clark has been appointed district supervisor of the Greater Los Angeles District. His term of service will begin Sept. 1, 2011.

Born in Southern California, and raised up and down the West Coast, Tim is a graduate of LIFE Bible College (now called Life Pacific College). He is currently working on a doctorate in intercultural studies at Fuller Theological Seminary.

In his 24 years of ministry, Tim has served as a youth pastor, senior pastor and church planter. He has always been involved in missions. It was while Tim was on a missions team to Kenya that he met his wife, Deborah. They have been married for 14 years and have three children.

In 1998, Tim and Deborah moved to Seattle to start a church in the University District. After developing leadership to pastor that church, they moved to Newberg, Ore., to become lead pastors. During their time there, the congregation grew to over 500, and the church became known for its unifying influence in the city; the Clarks also trained and sent numerous people into full-time ministry. Tim served as a divisional superintendent, served on the district advisory council, and operated as the district church planting coordinator, where he partnered with others to start and revitalize several congregations.

In August 2005, Tim accepted the assignment of dean of students at Life Pacific College (LPC) and moved his family to San Dimas. During this time, Tim and Deborah helped plant a church on the campus of LPC. Tim resigned from his role at the college after a few years so that he could focus on the growing church, which has sent out more than 40 full-time leaders, pastors and missionaries. Tim also currently serves as a divisional superintendent.

Tim is a strategic thinker, a culture-setter and an able communicator. His insight into the Word, his commitment to Spirit-filled ministry, and his passion for equipping leaders has affected many churches across our nation.

Tammy Dunahoo affirmed Tim’s selection and added: “Tim’s team-building and collaborative leadership style will involve many leaders across the broad diversity of the Greater Los Angeles District. His passion for multigenerational ministry and developing young leaders is vital for the future, and his missionary heart and experience will be a great asset to creatively building a multicultural team. Tim and Deborah model a  balanced life of ministry partnership and family, and take great joy in their three children.”

Tammy expressed gratitude to the district council and divisional superintendents for their wisdom and partnership, and to Robby Booth, who has served as interim district supervisor since January and who will now return to his focus on chaplains and leadership care through the Center for Spiritual Renewal West.

Speaking of his new assignment, Tim stated: “Deborah and I believe that God has an extraordinary plan to do something radically significant in the Los Angeles area, and that He has a unique assignment for each of our churches toward those purposes. We are humbled and excited to be invited to serve in this capacity as we work with a great and diverse team of pastors and leaders to engage the great task to which God has called us all.”

Please pray for the Greater Los Angeles District and for the Clark family as this transition occurs.
