I recently attended a memorial service for Leona Williams, who at age 93 went on to her heavenly reward. Along with her husband, Karl, she helped found Foursquare Missions Press. Since its founding, the Press has shipped 155,000,000 tracts, in 47 languages to 106 nations. It is undoubtedly one of the most fruitful kingdom enterprises anywhere in the world that serves a pure evangelism effort!

Hearing all of the glowing things said about her made me smile! Her mother was healed in an evangelistic crusade held by Aimee Semple McPherson and then moved their family to Los Angeles to get closer to the flame of what the Lord was doing in the early 1920s. Leona herself survived a brain tumor over 21 years ago. She went to the office every day at the Press until just recently when she was admitted to a hospital just days before her death.

The most amazing thing to me was that Karl and Leona didn’t start this ministry until they were 68 years old! Wow! Leona must have definitely remembered what the Lord declared. When the Lord named the church, He called us His bride, instead of a widow. Some widows might assume that their best days are behind them… but a bride would assume that her best days are ahead! Thank you, Leona for leaving such a powerful legacy!
