We are a people of The Way of Jesus, a beautiful, upside-down kingdom paradigm that permeates every sphere of our lives. (See Matt. 6 and Rev. 21.)

As Jesus gave the grand welcome, ushering in this kingdom, the world still had abundant problems. As kingdom people, we are living and leading in this tension: being people of the here and now, and not yet.

We become both windows and mirrors of this kingdom culture to the people around us. Our lives become windows for others to see a world they have not yet experienced, opening the horizon of possibility to be bearers of hope and people of peace.

We are mirrors who reflect back and mine out the not-yet, dormant, God-given potential in humanity. We are reconciling individuals and communities.

The people of The Way elevate the atmosphere. We change culture by engaging it, creating a new prophetic future with the breath of heaven upon it (Isa. 43). We were made for days like this: to lean in and lead with courage, pointing others to The Way of Jesus in all that we are and all that we do.

Prayer + Reflection

  1. Ask God to make you a window, that people around you will clearly see the kingdom of God in its glory, and that you would draw people to His love.
  2. Pray that God will use you as a mirror to reflect people’s true potential, and help them see what areas of their life they need to shrug off to move toward the Lord.
  3. Ask the Lord to grant you prophetic foresight. Position yourself to focus on what God is doing right now in your midst.
  4. Pray for Foursquare Missions International workers acting as windows and mirrors as they reach out to diaspora communities, many of whom are open to the gospel and can take its message to friends and family back home.
