Seven female students from Life Pacific College (LPC, also called LIFE Bible College), the Foursquare Emerging Leader Network (ELN) and Ignite Academy will share a total of $11,500 in scholarships from the 2013 Alabaster House Legacy Scholarship Fund.

“We are excited to sponsor these leaders who are pursuing education to grow in their competencies in personal, ministry and skill formation,” affirms Foursquare General Supervisor Tammy Dunahoo. “We have a rich heritage from which this scholarship fund was established, and our ForeRunners are thrilled to see their legacy continue.”

The following recipients from LPC received $2,000 each: Kristina Davis, Kaitlyn Fults, Jordan Klinshaw, Lucia Sanders and Desiree Tyner. Lauren Nelson from ELN will receive a $500 scholarship, and Hanna Matranga from Ignite Academy will receive $1,000.

Feeding into Foursquare’s Five Targets outlined by President Glenn Burris Jr.—specifically Target 1 (Leader Support) and Target 4 (Diversifying Leaders)—the Alabaster House Legacy Scholarships provide young female leaders with funds to further their education and pre-service training for vocational ministry.

The Alabaster House Legacy Scholarship Fund was established to extend the rich heritage of United Foursquare Women (now called Women in Ministry Leadership) and the female leaders who have gone before us in ministry leadership.

Marion Ingegneri, national field representative for Women in Ministry Leadership, says: “The culture of Foursquare has changed significantly over the past decade. It is a new season for women leaders. To provide these young leaders with scholarships is one way to support, empower and equip women leaders. The partnership with LPC, Ignite, ELN and the local church is a partnership I am honored to be part of as we announce this year’s scholarship recipients.

“By providing $11,500 in scholarships for emerging leaders in three arenas of ministry education,” Marion continues, “we hope to see continued release of emerging female leaders in Foursquare. I invite you to join me in rejoicing over the partnership we enjoy as a Foursquare family.”

Students can apply for 2014 scholarships starting in Feb. 2014.
