I trust and pray these summer months will be filled with meaningful ministry and family time. Summer can pass quickly, yet it is a remarkable season of growth not to be missed. On our little farm here in Oregon, I’m always amazed by how quickly everything flourishes in the warmth, reminding me that “abiding in the Vine” is where true spiritual growth and fruitfulness happen.
It is also the remedy for weariness, discouragement, frustration and uncertainty. Apart from Jesus, we can do nothing. This is not cliché, but His living Word to us (John 15:5). Therefore, prioritize remaining in Jesus above all else.
Over the past few weeks, I have been reflecting on our recent gathering in San Antonio. The response and feedback have been overwhelmingly consistent; we had a refreshing and purposeful Foursquare Connection.
Our time together was marked by peace and unity, and a palpable manifestation of the Spirit. We left with the sense that the wind of the Spirit was blowing, and we want to tack our sails to catch it as we go forward. I am filled with hope and renewed resolve to lay hold of all that God has purposed and promised for us.
There is a lot that goes into a gathering like this, including the army of intercessors that pray all year, as well as the hundreds of people who volunteered and served the thousands of children, youth and adults. For all of you who did, thank you!
In particular, I want to express my gratitude to Pastor Nate Poetzl and the Faith Chapel worship teams who served so graciously and willingly in children, youth and main sessions, as well as several other smaller gatherings throughout the week. Times spent in His presence, worshipping, were a high point of the week, and we appreciate these teams for facilitating meaningful worship.
A glimpse at Foursquare Connection 2026
Highlights from Foursquare Connection 2026
I don’t have the time or space to report on all that transpired, but here are a few highlights:
- Over 3,000 people gathered in San Antonio, including children and youth.
- Travel costs and visa issues were a bit of a challenge this year, affecting some of our usual international delegations, but we still had 45 countries represented.
- The theme of our gathering was “Possessing the Land,” underscored by a word for the year out of Joshua 1:9, which directs us to be a people of faith and courage. This theme was reflected in messages that were prophetic, pastoral and powerfully impactful. They calibrated us once again for faithful, faith-filled gospel ministry rooted in the Great Commission. - Purposeful time was spent pursuing His presence in worship, corporate prayer and intercession. We believe a praying people sustains an undercurrent of the Holy Spirit’s moving. We don’t just talk about prayer; we actually pray.
- We received stories of people being baptized in the Holy Spirit, of prodigals returning home and of documented healings, all praiseworthy testimonies of the Lord’s goodness.
- The National Hispanic District hosted Conexión Hispana. In addition, many multiethnic gatherings took place, the second annual women’s gathering was packed, and future church planters and young leaders met to network and collaborate.
- We learned and were equipped in multiple workshops. Listen to those here.
- We prayed for church planters, women in senior leadership roles and for new missionary workers. We recognized the unique work of Foursquare Disaster Relief and our commitment to proclaim and demonstrate the gospel through acts of mercy and compassionate ministry. As a result of our relief efforts, four churches were planted in Myanmar, Ukraine and Burundi in 2025.
- We celebrated the 50- and 60-year award recipients. We also honored the many men and women who died this past year and are now a part of that great cloud of witnesses cheering us on.
- We received a special mission offering totaling over $117,000 to reach some of the most unreached parts of our world. If you haven’t had the opportunity to give, consider donating now.
- We conducted kingdom business in accordance with our bylaws during the business sessions. We heard reports from Shared Mission, Multiply, Foursquare Missions International, Life Pacific University, Finance, Healthy Culture, and the President’s Report. I’m praying for you this summer. I don’t want us to fall short of anything God has ordained for us. I want you to walk in the fullness of His promises over you, your families, and your placement in ministry and calling.
Remember the call to have courageous faith, for God is with you! Be strong and courageous as you walk in obedience, in accordance with His Word, and with confidence that He will never leave you or forsake you. We are not those who shrink back, but those who enter in and possess His promises by faith.
