On March 11, the Foursquare cabinet, which was meeting in Glendale, Calif., processed Foursquare President Glenn Burris Jr.’s letter stating his availability to serve a second term as president of The Foursquare Church. Following prayerful discussion, the cabinet voted to forward President Burris’ name to the convention body, to stand for ratification for a second term of office.

A formal ratification ballot for a second presidential term will be presented at Foursquare Connection 2014, which convenes May 26–29 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Ratification for a second term requires that 75 percent of the votes cast by the convention body be affirmative.

Corporate Secretary Sterling Brackett states that this presidential selection process will be the first to include voting by absentee ballot. This enfranchisement of Foursquare family members who cannot attend the national convention is exciting. The Foursquare Church is living up to its commitment to let everyone’s voice be heard.

“I am humbly submitted to the will of the Lord and to the will of our movement regarding my availability to serve in this office,” says Glenn Burris Jr.

More voting information will be sent out in the very near future. Prayer is encouraged as the Foursquare family seeks God’s will for the future of our church.
