Scripture tells us that worry is a thief. Worry cruelly robs you of your joy, tears away your focus and gnaws at your faith.

Make sure your defense system is in place and armed.

The Word of God shares with us how to prepare our defenses. Walk in humility. Give Jesus your anxiety (for He is your peace). Stay alert—and stay sober (clear in thought and unimpaired). Your thoughts direct your actions; manage them well.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Pet. 5:8-9, NKJV).

Ask God to conform your hopes and expectations to His plan for your life.

Reflect + Pray

1. Thank the Holy Spirit for how He has already met your every need, and ask Him for perspective when dealing with life’s worries.

2. Pray for anyone in a local Foursquare church who is suffering from anxiety or worry. Ask the Lord to grant them patience, perspective and gratitude in the midst of their pain. Make a plan to come alongside those in your congregation who have anxiety.

3. Pray for parents in Foursquare churches who are worried about their children, and ask the Lord to bless NextGen reps and programs, that they would draw in youth and disciple them.

4. Ask God to bring new disciples to Foursquare churches, and ask Him to prepare the hearts and minds of the leaders who will disciple them.
