God reigns supreme over every detail of our universe. Do you believe that today?

One of the most significant challenges and most valuable lessons we learn is contentedness when unwanted things happen. When we feel powerless.

In Philippians, the apostle Paul addressed believers who brought him their concerns about the motives of those preaching the gospel. Paul recognized that some who preached had less-than-holy motivations. Then he said: “What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice” (Phil. 1:18, NKJV).

The only way to navigate the things in life we don’t understand or agree with is to trust in a sovereign God who can protect the integrity of the church. Paul’s exhortation is wise counsel for a culture often destabilized with anxiety over issues out of their control. When Christ is preached, rejoice.

Reflect + Pray

1. Ask God to give you His perspective on the areas of your life that feel out of your control.

2. Submit to God, and pray for His will to be done in these areas.

3. Pray for the hearts of those who may be called to ministry with The Foursquare Church. Ask God to purify their motives and give them a fresh vision to follow that calling.

4. Pray for Foursquare chaplains, and download the monthly prayer guide here.
