Parking lot construction at Angelus Temple 2009

With the demolition of four buildings adjacent to Angelus Temple, Angelus Temple Hispanic and Foursquare’s central office, Echo Park will gain a $13 million mixed-use structure that will include much-needed parking for more than 500 vehicles.

The first floor of the eight-story structure will largely be comprised of a kitchen, lobby and banquet area that can host 900 people. It will serve as a home for ministry and overflow seating for Angelus Temple and Angelus Temple Hispanic.

Primarily, the new structure will provide parking so that both congregations can host more people on Sunday mornings, as well as more realistically host special events. The building will provide weekday parking for Foursquare central office staff as well.

The parking structure, which should be completed by the end of the year, will be paid for through Foursquare Foundation funds committed as a tithe to Angelus Temple ministries upon the sale of KFSG radio station in 2001.

The parking structure is due to be up by late 2009.
