All people experience fear, and ministry leaders are no exception—but some of the best leaders I know are exceptional by the way they handle their fear.

These leaders choose to fight through their fear. Rather than letting their fear, insecurity or inadequacies define or paralyze them, they acknowledge and embrace their fears and face them head on. They aren’t waffling or on the fence.

Exceptional leaders realize faith is evident in things not seen, and in the end, they choose the risky path of walking forward, confident and hopeful.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. … By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Heb. 11:1-3, NKJV).

Let’s move forward in faith, facing our fears and emerging victorious in Christ.

Reflect + Pray

1. How do you handle fear or insecurity? In what areas of your life do you need to walk forward and take the risky path?

2. Take some time in prayer to submit your fears and insecurities to God, and ask Him to strengthen your faith.

3. Think of someone you know who is struggling with fear and insecurity; commit to pray for them every day this week.
