The Foursquare Church president, Dr. Jack Hayford, and the Board of Directors announce the appointment of Dr. Robert Flores to the presidency of Life Pacific College in San Dimas, Calif.

“This is a cause for celebration for The Foursquare Church,” Dr. Hayford said. “The manifest commitment of Dr. Flores and his wife, Diana, to Foursquare values and priorities has been proven over 20 years of pastoral leadership among us, and they have demonstrated a lifestyle of marriage and family that is a model for all.” Dr. Hayford continued, “His biblical and academic qualifications are exceeded only by his spiritual passion, obviously a foremost ingredient for impacting a rising generation of pastors and church leaders in the 21st century.”

The appointment of Dr. Flores, who has served as interim president since July 2008, was communicated to Life Pacific students, faculty and staff in a chapel service November 25. At that gathering Dr. Glenn Burris read a statement from Rev. Dennis Easter, the Chair of the Board of Trustees: “For the past several months, the board has been conducting a very thorough and vigorous presidential search process. That process involved and included students, faculty, administration, alumni, and members of the larger Foursquare constituency. On behalf of the board of trustees of Life Pacific College, we are pleased to present to you the individual that we are confident is the one God has selected and the process has confirmed…the one whom we believe is to lead us into a future filled with promise…Dr. Robert Flores.”

A formal installation of Dr. Flores is slated for January 2009.
