Why Kaleo

Kaleo is a district-wide, cohort-based, pipeline resource for youth who are called into ministry. Kaleo exists to assist the local church to support students to be equipped and launched into ministry training now! Kaleo helps bridge the gap between commission and assignment.

How does it work?

Kaleo has something for every young person called into ministry. Students will apply to participate in this annual cohort and will be required to attend 7 classes (1 orientation and 6 classes) which will be held 1x a month for 90 minutes. At the conclusion of their participation in the course, they will be invited to participate in a ministry retreat in the Spring.

Each call is broken up into 2 sessions- Collective & Core and hits on one of 3 pillars: Ministry 360, Called Now, & Launch. The first portion of the call (collective) is the teaching and includes everyone. We had the privilege of having incredible guest teachers this last year that included Craig Lawrence, Marion Ingegneri, Max & Tiffany Goodell, Jennifer Thigpen, Kiha Pimental, & Dr. Tim Clark.

The second session, students will join other students and their assigned leaders in their ministry focus (core). During this time, they will hear from experts in their field of interest and be given personal coaching. Students will be given goals to complete prior to their next class which should be done alongside their youth pastors and mentors in their local church context. We call this vital aspect of the cohort their “Community”.

We believe that serving + training students through the 4 walls of Collective, Core, Community, & Camp, that we will see an influx of students embracing their ministry calling beyond their high school and young adult years.
