Pastor Jack Hayford

Foursquare’s own Pastor Jack Hayford was recently recognized by Preaching magazine as one of the top 25 most influential preachers in the last 25 years. The article, presented by executive editor Michael Duduit and appearing on SermonCentral.com, noted that Pastor Jack has “provided an example of faithful biblical preaching.”

Other prominent ministers noted in the article were Billy Graham, Charles Swindoll, Rick Warren and Andy Stanley. Because Preaching magazine’s focus is on ministry in the United States, Duduit’s feature narrowed its listing to pastors with renowned ministries in the American pulpit, not those overseas. Most of the pastors spotlighted, however, do have a worldwide platform.

Pastor Jack is probably best known as founding pastor of The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, Calif. He is chancellor of The King’s College and Seminary, now called The King’s University, which he established in 1997. He also served as president of The Foursquare Church from 2004-2009. An internationally recognized biblical scholar and teacher, he has written more than 50 books and composed 600 hymns and choruses, including the widely known “Majesty.”

“Most of us are aware of the remarkable history of leadership and influence that Dr. Jack Hayford has had in the body of Christ at large and within our own church family,” says Glenn C. Burris Jr., president-elect of The Foursquare Church following his selection as the movement’s next president during Foursquare’s international convention in June. “As this honor reflects, Pastor Jack continues to steward his gifts well.”
