Pastor Jack Hayford, president of The Foursquare Church, along with over 1,000 other Christian leaders around the world, is calling believers everywhere to participate in the Global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem on Sunday, October 7, 2007.

Although a Jerusalem Celebration will be broadcast on GOD TV on October 7, the Global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem is more than a single event in one location. People around the world in local churches will join in unity to pray for the people of Jerusalem and the nations of the world. Ministers and congregants of Foursquare churches in every country are invited to participate either individually or corporately in this worldwide prayer effort.

Thousands of Foursquare people around the world joined in concerted prayer during Foursquare’s annual convention this summer in Jerusalem. God’s favor on the convention was evident, underscoring the need for Christians everywhere to devote themselves to systematic intercession for the City of Jerusalem and the people of Israel.

In light of events that will occur throughout the nation today commemorating those whose lives were lost due to terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, the timing of this invitation to pray for worldwide peace is especially significant. The Apostle Paul reminds the Church “…If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men” (Romans 12:18 NKJV), and the Psalmist exhorts, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you'” (Psalm 122:6 NKJV).
