Today, a new day begins in the life of The Foursquare Church as 14 new district offices, led by newly-appointed district supervisors, launch a new level of integrated, missional ministry across the United States. A District Welcome Guide has been mailed to ministers in each of the 14 districts introducing them to their supervisor and the churches within their district. A list of websites for the new districts is available online. Each supervisor will also host a gathering for his or her district during Foursquare Connection 2009, the international Foursquare convention in Anaheim, Calif., later this month.

Commenting on the significance of the new district structure, Glenn Burris Jr., general supervisor of The Foursquare Church, invited Foursquare leaders throughout the country to celebrate this open door of ministry. He welcomed and encouraged global prayer among our ministers and congregants as the Holy Spirit anoints and mantles our new district supervisors and their staffs to serve the 6,743 licensed Foursquare ministers across the nation and the congregations they lead.

The transition of leadership between the 14 new district supervisors and the previous group of 71 district supervisors has been seamless and is testimony to the Christ-like spirit shared by these godly men and women. Foursquare president Pastor Jack Hayford expressed his sincerest gratitude for the faithfulness of our outgoing district supervisors, affirming the significant role as interceding elders these leaders will continue to play, contributing a wealth of wisdom and experience as they engage in seasoned, fervent intercession for their Foursquare colleagues.

was founded in 1923, and we have been growing leaders ever since.
