The choice of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., for Foursquare Connection 2013 is strategic and will provide Foursquare leaders, staff members, colleagues and their families some well-deserved time together, says Foursquare President Glenn Burris Jr.

“We have streamlined our schedule,” Glenn explains. “We’ve heard your suggestions and have structured Connection 2013 for plenty of time with family and friends.”

Foursquare Connection 2013 is built around the theme, “Engage: Learn. Live. Lead.” This year’s event is designed to invest in the lives, families and ministries of our leaders. Connection Manager Tammy Sevcov says she hopes leaders from all walks of life, as well as their families, will feel refreshed, encouraged and connected.

The opening service is Tuesday night, May 28, and the final session will conclude at noon on Thursday, May 30. Presenters include John Bevere, Robby Booth, Dr. Henry Cloud, Jerry Cook, Kimberly Dirmann, David Grasso, Kip Jacob, Terry Miller, Jim Ranger Jr., Samuel Rodriguez, Tammy Sevcov, Chuck Shoemake, Ricky Temple and Marc Wymore. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of special Connection resort rates and extend their stay, prior to Connection 2013.

In a recent letter to Foursquare pastors, Glenn Burris Jr. challenged them to intentionally engage in mentoring relationships during 2013.

“I believe the Lord is calling us to a new level of one-on-one relationships in 2013,” Glenn wrote. “In fact, the commitment to connect with our brothers and sisters in Foursquare is of paramount importance to the forward progress of our continued call as a family.”

This challenge will be made a reality by those who engage with other leaders during Connection 2013. The Foursquare Church is encouraging pastors to invite staff members, church leaders, mentors and those being mentored to the three-day gathering, along with their families.

The Foursquare Church has always highlighted the importance of healthy leaders and healthy churches, and this year’s Connection will take that focus to all new heights. In addition to the personal leadership and relational benefits of Foursquare Connection 2013, the planning process has been streamlined, making it easier for people to get to Connection.

Early bird registration rates for Connection 2013 are available through Feb. 27. Resort guests flying into Orlando International Airport will want to take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express, a complementary shuttle to and from the airport. Guests who have a vehicle will enjoy complimentary self-parking at the resort.

Foursquare leaders will also enjoy complimentary access to the Disney Resort Transportation System that serves all Disney attractions, parks, hotels and Downtown Disney. Special admission pricing and extended park hours for registered resort guests will add to the family fun.

The official Connection website, foursquareconnection.org, has a brand-new look and provides everything needed to help leaders prepare for and get excited about Connection 2013.

As Foursquare leaders prepare to learn, live and lead during Connection 2013, there’s a growing sense of God’s call to minister to and shape the lives of people who are right in front of us. Families, mentors, staff members and emerging leaders all deserve our commitment of relationship and time. Let’s join together during Connection this year to engage those relationships that honor God and build His church.
