Foursquare welcomes three new board members

Foursquare welcomes Chantal Edler, Tammy Sevcov and Jeff Tolle to the board of directors. Learn who they are and how they plan to contribute to the board.

The Foursquare Church has added three new members to its board of directors, who will help guide the movement’s operations and implement various guidelines.

Vice President of Operations Adam Davidson says the new directors are a valuable addition to the board as members set the church’s direction, meet new challenges, serve our leaders and continue to spread the gospel.

“This is an important season for Foursquare as we pursue His presence, pass the flame and possess the land,” says Adam, who is also the corporate secretary. “These three new directors will contribute significantly due to their unique giftings and commitment to serving and praying for our local churches.”

Board members help guide the corporation’s management and the Foursquare movement’s missional effectiveness. The board consists of up to 25 members, including four officers, 12 elected members (two from each district), and nine who may be appointed.

Two of the new directors were selected during their district’s spring voting, and one was appointed by the board and ratified by the cabinet. They are already active as non-voting observers. Their five-year terms officially begin on Sept. 1, 2025.

Chantal Edler is lead pastor of Yakima Foursquare Church in Yakima, Wash., Northwest District.

Her deep roots in Foursquare include holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Life Pacific University (LPU). In 2024, LPU presented her with its Kingdom Leadership Alumnus of the Year Award.

Although she grew up in another denomination, Chantal started attending a Foursquare church in middle school because all her friends were in the youth group. Years later, she recalls: “I didn’t realize that Foursquare was more than just the name of the church.”

She has been on staff at Yakima Foursquare Church since 2012, and she and her husband, Jacob, were installed as lead pastors in 2019. She sees the board of directors as helping care for local leaders by ensuring they have support systems in place.

“I believe a strength that I have to offer the board is asking good questions and thinking through big-picture ideas,” Chantal says. “I believe God has given me the gift of discernment and wisdom. It truly feels like an honor to get to sit with other leaders—many of whom I have loved and respected from afar for many years. And, seek the Holy Spirit for the church’s collective good.”

Her story includes an extended battle with breast cancer, which was diagnosed in 2022, but now she shows no evidence of disease. Chantal and Jacob are the parents of two daughters, ages 8 and 10.

Tammy Sevcov, an appointed member, is part of the apostolic team at The Rock (Anaheim Foursquare Church) in Anaheim, Calif., Western District.

Tammy was part of The Rock’s launch team in 2000 while a student at LPU. She served on the ministry and pastoral team through 2011, helping start the discipleship program and several campuses.

Tammy then joined the Foursquare team and eventually became communications manager, until stepping down in 2020 to become executive director of Solid Lives, a ministry of The Rock.

Last year, she launched her first business, Better Consulting Inc., which focuses on equipping churches and small businesses with organizational development and coaching.

Since the board of directors is a group of local leaders, caring for those leaders is an intrinsic part of its task, says Tammy, adding that without healthy local leaders, there wouldn’t be a Foursquare Church.

“I deeply enjoy making things work more effectively, simplifying and serving people,” Tammy states. “I actually enjoy debating and discussing to ensure the different angles on any topic have been fully considered. Since I have led from both inside a church and inside a corporate office, I hope that context and gift mix will bring something helpful to the team.”

Jeff Tolle is senior pastor of Vida Church, located in the North Hills area of southwestern Los Angeles, National Hispanic District.

A 1997 graduate of Los Angeles Baptist High School, Jeff later received his bachelor’s degree in music education from California State University, Northridge, where he was also a swimmer. He earned his master’s degree in intercultural studies at Biola University and was ordained by Foursquare in 2008.

Prior to coming to Vida Church, he was a youth pastor at La Iglesia En El Camino (Van Nuys Hispanic Foursquare Church / The Church on the Way) in Van Nuys, Calif. He is also the founder of Eleva, a Christian youth conference.

In his new position, Jeff expects to offer input on financial management, strategic planning and vision, as well as spiritual insights. He is excited to have a voice in the direction of the Foursquare movement and to faithfully serve our churches.

“The board makes decisions that are for the benefit of churches, pastors and leaders across the nation,” Jeff says. “Decisions over the course of many years, such as the return of the tithe and retirement, are for the blessing of our leaders.”

Jeff says members can pray for board directors to have supernatural wisdom and insight into the denomination’s management and a clear vision for where the Lord is leading us.

He married Evelyn in 2002, and they have four children.
