Foursquare Connection 2019

Foursquare Connection 2019 began in Nashville, Tenn., on Monday night with a packed house of more than 3,200 people. The Foursquare crowd showed they were excited to come together for the annual international gathering that brings friends and family alike together in one location for several days, this year from May 27-29.

The sprawling Gaylord Opryland Resort + Convention Center hosts and houses the event attendees this year, with jokes of “burning off the biscuits and sweet tea” filling the Delta River area of the resort; others compared meeting step goals. With the Foursquare Connection hotel room block selling out earlier than expected, many attendees found rooms at nearby hotels, beating the 90-degree heat with the help of shuttles.

President Glenn Burris Jr. and wife Debbie welcomed the large crowd from all 50 states and 54 nations. “Wherever there is a place that needs to be rebuilt or restored—ministry, marriage, life, your health—that God will be the rebuilder and the restorer of your life this week,” Glenn declared.

After a powerful time of worship with Foursquare’s own Lydia Ingeneri, Glenn proudly introduced Dr. Angela Meyers, who performed surgery on him last year. She shared that she sees her practice as her ministry appointment: “Wherever Christ plants your feet is your mission field.”

The session celebrated being “Restored by Jesus” with personal and powerful stories from Heidi Cooper and Rick Fry. More exciting stories of lives being restored are planned for throughout the four day convention.

After speaking about how God brings His anointing for specific seasons of our lives, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church brought the house to their feet when he asked the Holy Spirit to pour down a fresh outpouring of His anointing.

Tuesday afternoon, credentialed ministers and voting delegates will determine our next Foursquare president. Votes will be tallied together with the absentee ballots, and the new president will be announced during the Tuesday night session. The president-elect will then shadow current president, Glenn Burris Jr., and will take office Sept. 1, 2020. Immediately following the Tuesday session, attendees will have the chance to meet the new president at the International Celebration. In addition, proposed bylaw amendments will be considered on Thursday.

While many came to the Southeast to take part in our first presidential election in 10 years, folks also came out to hear from Pete Scazzero, Lisa Bevere, Brad Williams, Phil Manginelli, Banning Liebscher and the amazing lineup of inspirational speakers. Lydia Ingeneri will be back to lead worship tomorrow, with Jesus Culture taking lead on Wednesday and Thursday.

Workshops will take place on Wednesday, and will include practical topics such as marriage restoration, parenting well, male and female leaders working together, as well as sessions for those who might want to get involved with helping refugees or human trafficking survivors.

Conexión Hispana will also be held on Wednesday afternoon, with worship by Eric Diaz and a special word from Daniel Prieto, founder of Conexión Pastoral. The event will be conducted in Spanish, but English translation devices are available for those attending in person.

Conexión, as well as all Foursquare Connection general sessions, will be livestreamed at no cost at ConnectionLive.org. Tune in 20 minutes early to the general sessions to watch the Connection Live preshow, made just for the online audience.

New this year, those who would like to stay on until Thursday afternoon can participate in Emotionally Healthy Discipleship with author Pete Scazzero. The session is $50 and still available for registration while space remains.

This year’s event has 3,600 adults and an additional 550 registered for the Kids + Youth program, making it the largest Foursquare gathering ever to be held in the Southeast. The event will run through Thursday, May 30; tune in to ConnectionLive.org all week.

The Connection 2019 Digital Downloads are available with all the general sessions, interviews, QuickTalks, video presentations and over 20 workshops (audio only).
