Former Foursquare Missionary John Gnanaolivu has gone to be with the Lord, on April 4, 2013. He was 86 years old.

John served powerfully in India with his wife, Vijaya, for 12 years, from 1982 to 1994. He was appointed as the general superintendent of the Foursquare Gospel Church in India.

After just three years in India, he sent back a report that noted there were already 7,100 believers in 77 churches with 56 pastors.

He added: “Foursquare workers have penetrated 19 previously unreached hidden people groups and envision the evangelization of neighboring Burma and Nepal.” He saw many healings during his time in India, where God moved powerfully through his ministry.

Before his time as a Foursquare missionary, he was the director of Teaching Aids for India, followed by his appointment as director of Far East Broadcasting in India.

John’s wife and missionary partner, Vijaya, went to be with the Lord in February 2012. The couple is survived by their daughters, Geeta Swamidass and Sjuita Samuel, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
