We are encouraged to put on the armor of God in Ephesians 6: “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one” (v.16, NKJV).

Fiery darts were not typically fatal, but rather intended to wound, disable or distract. What does Satan often use to thwart our advances and paralyze us from moving forward? Fear. Accusations. Worry. He uses the trivial to convince us we are powerless. But taking up the “shield of faith” is God’s answer to Satan’s schemes.

Faith comes by ingesting the Word. So, dive into His Word. Let it saturate your soul, and let it dismantle the plans of the evil one.

God’s Word is able to create a fortress around your mind, heart and soul.

Reflect + Pray

1. What trivial things have you been distracted by recently? Surrender them to the Lord, and ask for clear vision.

2. Read Eph. 6:14-17, and consider what each piece of spiritual armor might look like on you.

3. Ask God to build a fortress around you. Read His Word, and pray for protection against Satan’s attacks.

4. Please lift up the prayer requests of Foursquare Missions International staff and area missionaries. Download the monthly prayer guide here.
