A friend shared with me and others this week about how early Easter was in the calendar this year. In fact, he discovered that this is the earliest Easter has been in our lifetime; it’s been over 80 years since it fell this early. The earliest Easter can ever occur, based on the formula, is March 22. Not only will it never again be this early in our lifetime, but our children and grandchildren will never see Easter this early either. It will be well over 200 years before Easter is this early again. Amazing!

The following word from the Lord came to my friend personally, but was something I thought should be shared with everyone. In brief, he said that the Lord prompted him with a sense that this Easter will be unlike any he has ever experienced in his lifetime. And, this is the word I think we can all receive. He said this Easter would be:

Earlier, rather than later;
Greater, rather than less; and
Enduring, rather than passing.

Wow! Pastor Jack and I talked about it on the way home from our meeting. We agreed that this word was for us, our families and the broader Foursquare Church! This Easter, will you receive this word? Will you contend for it?

Following Jesus’ resurrection, Thomas refused to believe until he saw the Savior alive. He refused the women’s account and rebutted his fellow disciples’ encounter with the Lord. Jesus then appeared to Thomas, rebuked him, and declared: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed!” (John 20:29 NKJV)

Sign me up! That’s the group I want to be a part of … the believing before I see group! This year, contend for an Easter like you’ve never experienced. Believe Him, even though you have yet to see!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
