On May 17, 2006, Dr. Fred H. Wymore Sr., went to be with the Lord. He passed away in Oakland, Calif. A public memorial service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at East Bay Fellowship, 2615 Camino Tassajara Rd., in Danville, Calif.

Fred Wymore was born in 1922 in Ontario, Calif., to Fred and Jesse Wymore, prosperous farmers who were charter members of the Ontario, Calif., Foursquare Church. At a youth rally Fred received a call of God to preach the gospel. He enrolled in LIFE Bible College in 1940, at only 18 years of age. Following graduation in 1943, Fred and his wife, Betty, pioneered the Foursquare church in Santa Rosa, Calif., followed by pastorates in Woodland, Calif.; Fresno, Calif. (for 15 years) and in El Monte, Calif. (8 years). In 1971, the Wymores accepted the invitation to serve as supervisors of the Western District. For the next 24 years, they established a genuine family atmosphere throughout the Western District, standing as wonderful examples of pastoral care to the ministers and congregations. One of their greatest contributions was the development of Old Oak Ranch, in Sonora, Calif.

Fred Wymore was a man of prayer. Serving on numerous executive committees for the Foursquare denomination, Fred deeply loved his Lord and he loved his Church. He invested his life and resources into many young men and women who are now serving as pastors and missionaries around the world. He was deeply loved by all he touched. In 1983, Fred received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from The Foursquare Church.

It was at his home church in Ontario, Calif., that Fred met and fell in love with his wife Betty. They were married during his last year in Bible college and for nearly 63 years have served together as an inseparable team. The Wymores were blessed with three married children, Ron, Fred, Jr., and Diane (Chapman). They have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
