Glenn Burris Jr., general supervisor and vice president of U.S. operations of The Foursquare Church, on behalf of President Jack W. Hayford and the board of directors announce two district supervisor transitions, effective March 1, 2008.

Arkansas/Oklahoma District Merger
A decision to merge the Arkansas and Oklahoma Districts of Foursquare Churches (Central Region) into the newly expanded Heartland District was announced along with the decision by the board to appoint David Coffey as supervisor of the newly enlarged district.

The merger is the result of expanded ministry responsibilities of Arkansas District Supervisor Tammy Dunahoo, who for almost three years has also brought oversight to the growing national ministry to Foursquare women. As the district merger and leadership transitions are finalized, Tammy and her husband, Gary Dunahoo, who leads Foursquare’s national ministry to men, will focus attention on newly developed ministries for the National Church Office. They also will take on new roles with a focus on leadership health and enrichment, serving with Chuck Shoemake, director of Foursquare CARE ministries and the Center for Spiritual Renewal in Christiansburg, Va.

David and Diane Coffey have served Foursquare churches in pastoral leadership in Oregon, Missouri, California and Oklahoma. David has also held several key leadership roles within districts including an extended season as administrator of the historic South Central District. Since 2003, David has demonstrated excellence in his role as supervisor of the Oklahoma District. He and Diane continue to pastor Hope Church, the Foursquare Church in Oklahoma City, Okla.

New Supervisor Appointment, Western Ohio District
Glenn also announced that Harriet Mouer has resigned as district supervisor of the Western Ohio District (Atlantic Region) and that the board has appointed Jim Cooper to fill the position.

Harriet has led the Western Ohio district since 2004 and was one of the first women to hold the position of district supervisor in the history of The Foursquare Church. Harriet looks forward to focusing on the prayer ministries at The Family Fellowship, Foursquare Church in Amherst, Ohio, where her husband, Bill Mouer, is the senior pastor. and spending more time with their children and four grandsons. She will continue to lead the national prayer focus for Foursquare Women and is a member of the Foursquare Cabinet.

During her tenure as supervisor, Harriet has enjoyed developing the Second Census ministry in the district in which emerging leaders in their twenties are released to healthy, fruitful ministry. The Mouers continue to experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the growing congregation they have pastored for 25 years.

Jim and Joyce Cooper are senior pastors at Harbourtown Community Church in Vermillion, Ohio, where they have served for the past decade. Prior to that and upon graduation from Life East Bible College, Jim served as assistant pastor, youth pastor and district youth representative in the historic Eastern District. Jim’s mission is to identify and release emerging leaders into effective ministry, a gift he will continue to use in his new supervisory appointment.

The district merger and supervisor appointments are decisions that have been prayerfully considered by the respective district councils, the Foursquare board and the district supervisors in partnership with regional supervisors Larry Spousta (Central Region) and Marty Jenkins (Atlantic Region).
