Ruben Reyna

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17, NKJV)

Spiritual healing can take many forms. Working with men’s and women’s homes, we take people in need and disciple them to become productive members of society. Through that ministry, I met Peter and Jenny.

Peter was involved in gang violence and was in prison. He was addicted to drugs and liquor. No one trusted him. Now, he is a delivery driver serving the prisons where he used to do time. God has performed miracles in his life, and he is married to a woman of God and has two beautiful daughters. Many members of his family have come to know Jesus, and he and his wife work in children’s ministry on Sundays.

Jenny came from a dysfunctional family. Her mother had depression, and her father was a heroin addict who was in and out of prison. At age 11, Jenny was raped and ran away to a life of drugs. She attempted suicide several times. She entered a home for women and learned about Jesus. He delivered Jenny from her drug addiction and suicidal thoughts. He broke generational curses. Now, she puts her whole trust in Jesus.

Peter and Jenny have both experienced spiritual healing and miracles, and in Christ they have become “new creations” (2 Cor. 5:17).

Prayer + Reflection

1. Ask the Lord for a compassionate heart and the ability to reach out to those on the edge in your community.
2. Pray for the words to touch the hearts of those in your community who are hurting, and for protection for those in dangerous circumstances.
3. Rejoice and thank God for delivering His “new creations” out of sin and sadness.

  1. Amen!!! So many people impacted through Pastor Ruben and the ministry of Living Word… I’m a disciple from the men’s home aswell and thank God each day for placing me in the care of my Pastor’s and this movement!

    1. God has done amazing miracles throughout the ministry of Living word in my life and countless others. God brought me to Living Word from the streets barely surviving as a drug addict and alcoholic. It was and still is in the home now 6 Yes later that God reveals himself and the future he holds for my place in thw ministry to Reach, Teach, Mend, and Send. Thank God that he makes all things new each day and there are greater things yet to come for the body of Christ and for the world.

  2. Thank you for the encouragement from God’s word. Yes, I am created by Him. I am made new, my past is behind me so I can go forward in His name. I request prayer for my Uncle Amado Villarreal, 93 years old, who has stage 4 cancer of the Colin, liver, and lungs. He is not ready to go home with Jesus. He believes there is that one thing God wants him to do. Blessings to you.

  3. I ask for prayer from bondage over finances. Bondage over lack, wanting a home of our own, for our future generations in move forth with sharing His Gospel of Peace, and to be in peace with Him.

  4. Today I was reading in the January 2019 magazine about healing of the soul and Katie Souza. She quotes Ephesians 3:21 – God is able to do exceedingly aboundantly above all we ask or thing, according to the power – dunamis – that works in us. She says that dunamis as interpreted in Strong’s concordance is the power to perform a miracle and also excellence of soul. I pray for God’s power working in me to be able to love others.

  5. Amen the ministry of Pastor Ruben Reyna has greatly impacted lives around the world.
