On Tuesday, July 18, 2006, Kathi Ann Simon, wife of Foursquare board member Mark Simon, went to be with the Lord. For nine years, Kathi had bravely battled breast cancer, full of hope. Now she is enjoying in fact what she had so anticipated in faith. Those who knew Kathi will always remember her contagious smile and positive attitude throughout this entire time.
In addition, Mark’s 81-year-old father, Sidney, passed away on July 19, 2006, just 15 hours following Kathi’s homegoing. He too had been suffering a prolonged illness.
Mark Simon has served on the board of directors since 1994. Throughout Kathi’s illness, he has given great attention to his wife of 25 years, to his children and to The Foursquare Church. Although Mark and his children, Casey and Michael, are rejoicing that their loved ones are in the presence of the Lord, they are also experiencing the grief that comes with such loss. Pray that they will know the comfort of the Holy Spirit in a special way.
The memorial service for Kathi will take place on Friday, July 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prayer Chapel of The Church On The Way, East Campus, 14300 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91405. A reception will follow in the Lamb’s Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, it was Kathi’s wish donations be sent to a ministry that her family assisted in starting in Mexico in 1966: Foundation for His Ministry, PO Box 74000, San Clemente, CA 92673-0134.
