As many of you reading this can testify, it has been quite a week! From fires to floods, we are grateful for every church, pastor, volunteer and responder who continues to serve faithfully amid multiple crises. Local churches are showing up with compassion, endurance and the hope of Jesus.
Spokane, Wash.
We continue to partner with 16 local churches in Spokane as they serve their community through hot meals, counseling, chaplain care, spiritual and emotional support and housing for those who have been displaced. Many of these pastors and volunteers are serving while simultaneously carrying their own suffering and loss. Please pray for strength for these workers as they faithfully serve those around them.
Colombia and Venezuela
Following the devastating 7.4 earthquake in Colombia on Aug. 10, Aaron Hunter, global associate director with Foursquare Missions International, has been on the ground assessing needs and coordinating with local churches.
Foursquare Disaster Relief has already sent funds and is continuing to provide logistical and operational support as we discern how best to come alongside our churches in Colombia.
We also continue to serve in Venezuela as communities recover from earthquake damage and the ongoing impact from storms that occurred earlier this month.
Indiana and Illinois
Flooding has impacted communities across Indiana and Illinois. We are partnering with three congregations to care for displaced families, support cleanup efforts and help meet practical needs in the days ahead.
Pray earnestly
Please join us in praying for our pastors, church volunteers and responders. Please also pray that those we are serving will see Jesus as we look to be His hands and feet. Pray for strength, endurance, wisdom, protection and the peace of Christ to be present in every place of need.
